SEOUL: North Korean troops have brought banned machine guns into the tense border with South Korea in violation of an armistice accord, the United Nations Command (UNC) said on Friday. Light machine guns were set up during work to reconnect cross-border road and railway links in the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) on several occasions over a period of seven days in December, the UNC said in a statement. The UNC, which monitors compliance with the armitice agreement that ended the 1950-53 Korean War, said it requested a meeting with North Korea representatives to discuss the charges. North Korean soldiers were observed setting up and manning light machine guns on various occasions between December 13-20 in the transportation corridor that runs through the western section of the DMZ, the UNC said. North Korea denied the charges in a message to South Korea's defense ministry 10 days ago but has refused to discuss the matter with the UNC. The two Koreas agreed in September to allow their border guards to carry only a rifle with 30 live bullets inside DMZ-cross corridors, where rail and road links are intended to be built. |
"Remember -- Democrats give you nuclear reactors -- Don't build bombs until the Republican Party controls the American Government ! "
And to think... Birr Crinton was concerned about not having a "legacy".
Remember to donate 10% of what we give you to the DNC, the Clintoons, the Da$$hole, the enviral organizations and Patty Murray!

China needs to rein the North Koreans in a bit.
Talk to anyone who has ever served on the 38th.
They will tell you N. Korea has been shooting down on us with machine guns from the mountains for many years.
The threat here is NOT TO SOUTH KOREA!
The real threat is to Japan.
We can live very comfortably without S. Korea.
Not so for Japan.
Pretending to be unconcerned is better that looking impotent. Quietly, they've given North Korea the 'keep this up and it will be impossible for us to back you', and gotten the 'you don't tell us what to do anymore' in reply.
Don't expect China to make a big showing in this. It's out of their hands.
