The last 5 carriers are known as the President Class because they have systems that the Nimitz Class did not at one time most noted an enclosed bubble for the "Shooter" or Cat Officer.
One of the highlights of my entire life was a Tiger Cruise on the Nimitz.
"The last 5 carriers are known as the President Class because they have systems that the Nimitz Class did not at one time most noted an enclosed bubble for the "Shooter" or Cat Officer." I got a tour of the USS Ranger, when it was at Bremerton, Wa. ship yard.
I saw the catapault booth. I couldn't believe how small it was! It had to be over 100 degrees in there, too. That has got to be tough duty!
I imagine the President Class are larger and cooler?
BTW, what did you do on the flight deck? And out of curiousity, what do the differant color uniforms signify?
I was told purple were called "plums" and were fuel guys...
