We're going to have to save forces for North Korea. They're going to probably attack the South within three months if not sooner.

Then we'd be accused of sending poisoned dogmeat to NK. Sigh. It's ALWAYS something, isn't it?

NK WOULD RESPOND.
They stay coiled and cocked. Responding would be a "fun" relief to them..
They would respond in a flash.
They would do it if it meant total suicide.
That is an unreal place.
CNN IS NOW EMPHASIZING FROM NAVY that these ships are still not planning to leave before the first of the year. . . that the 96 hours was a READINESS criteria.

I would think our forces would go straight from Iraq, to NK. (or the area) What do we have in okinawa BTW? Anyone know?

USS Truman has already shipped out....I stand corrected. Didn't I hear that one of the groups was in/near Australia 'bout now? (and for some reason I was thinking it was the Truman)

Here. Go to these sites. You will see nothing but Japanese, but you'll see "English" in English. Hit that button; you'll get some local take (it might be a little old in some cases).

Ohhh Boy. This ship just arrived from the Gulf a week or so ago. This is pretty fast depolyment. If they were stocking up on supplies, couldn't they have used transports? And GW cancelled his upcomming trip to Africa. Seems to me the word has been given. War starts in 3-4 weeks.

The first of the year is a little over 96 hours from now ... no coincedence.

ASSUME, PRETEND, IMAGINE . . .
That the powers that be HAVE decided to start WWIII against us after we attack Iraq. . . .
Wouldn't it be "nice" from THEIR (Russian, Chinese, Cuban, Lybian, NKorean, Mexican and . . . wild guess--some European nation is supposed to be on their side . . . ?France?) Wouldn't it be nice from THEIR perspective to proxy the NK's into probing/practicing destroying a carrier in this current NK situation to 'see how it went' prior to the big fight?

As of June 30th 2000, 63% of U.S. Armed Forces in Japan, equivalent to 24,858 personnel of the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps, were stationed in Okinawa Prefecture. Especially, there are 15,364 U.S. Marines, which accounts for 62% of the U.S. Armed Forces in Okinawa.
Accuracy is questionable though. It's from a group that wants our troops off Okinawa.
