Rep. Matsui Condemns Effort to Shift Tax Burden onto Middle Class Families

WASHINGTON, DC - Today in the Washington Post Congressman Matsui condemned recent Republican suggestions that middle class and lower-income families shoulder more of the tax burden in the U.S. Matsui said, "The President is making the case that people who earn between $50,000 and $75,000 a year should be paying a third more in taxes." (December 16, 2002)

I don’t know whether this bill passed or not, however, isn’t this typical of socialist/liberal thinking...give a person more so he is obliged to do less.
