Well, I'm locking my luggage, and if they want to look into it, I should be there.

Why should we trust them not to steal our stuff?

And, pray tell, what about our private stuff? This is outrageous!!! We're no longer allowed to have ANY privacy?

Next time I see my Congressman, instead of a hug and kiss, he's going to meet my fist!! (figuratively speaking, of course)

When the customer begins to realize that he is treated as an enemy, he will avoid being a customer.

Prior to 9-11 I averaged 40-60 flight segments a year and acummulated a lot of frequent flyer miles. Since 9-11, because of the airport hassles, delays, grief and aggrevation, I have eliminated almost all of my business travel, and the only air travel I have done during the past 6 months has been to visit my children and grandchildren.

I'm considering driving to Texas from PA next year instead of flying, not because of safety concerns, but because of airport hassles and delays. I'm sure it's safer to fly than drive, but I am sick of dimwits searching my carryons and hassling me.

What a stupid over reaction. Maybe they were drunk to exhibit such poor judgement

You CAN yell "FIRE!!" in a theater, if there IS a fire.

It's also up to the theatre owner to prosecute you for inciting a riot or fraud or whatever. Free Speech is absolute only insofar as gooberment is concerned. In the case here, maybe the pilot could have smacked him for his remark but getting the law involved is stupid beyond the pale.

I am with you on that sentiment. One theory....perhaps the fact that the airline industry has been in trouble for so long has a trickle down effect on employees. I have noticed airline staff being increasing militant and unprofessional (even before 9/11). One wonders if this irrational behavior is a reflection of the trouble this industry attributed to many factors rather than an irrational reaction to security issues. Either way, something needs to change, including pilots not drinking before flying.

Oh, I don't know. I would have to have been there. Have you ever BEEN on a plane with some jerk from Madison, home of "The Rules Are For You, Not Me" liberals? Many is the time when my husband and I looked at each other and wished we had the controls to a remote-control ejector seat for some of these ya-hoos. He may have been a pr!ck from the get-go; chances are good that he was. Just be a grown-up, buckle your seatbelt, don't drop your junk out of the overhead bin onto my husband's head, and quit kicking my seat. >:o|

Can you tell I have been on a few long flights? Thanks for letting me vent. I feel better. <:o)

"Where the hell are you from? CA or MA?"

Neither, as if that might make some kind of difference. I happen to live in our nations freest, most Republican state.

That being established, we still believe in the institution and enforcement of traffic regulations and certain other minor inconveniences for the anarchists and other idiots that also reside here. We also expect a certain amount of civility, maturity and responsibility from all people, including full grown adults.

The lame excuses that have been offered in this thread for one jerk's irresponsible behavior are pathetic. They are also quite revealing as to the poster's own lack of maturity and sense of respect towards fellow citizens.

If you joke about bombs on an airplane or yell "fire" in a theater, you will pay the consequences.

It's the difference between yelling "Fire!" in a theater, and stating to one of the ushers in a calm voice "I hope there isn't a fire."

Big difference.

LOL........ I think saying the Red Raiders "took care of" Clemson is kind of an understatement, don't you? Not that I'm rubbing it in or anything......
