There are two main reasons to celebrate this wonderful time of year.
The first that should be front and center for Christians is the celebration of the birth of the Christchild who was promised by God to his people.
The second is this can be a time of renewal, peace and treasured memories for all. After Thanksgiving, this is the holiday that more people and families get together and celebrate.

I was just recounting this very thing to my husband on Christmas eve. I remember popping popcorn with my daddy and stringing what seemed like thousands of strands of it for our tree. Then I remember him making his delicious chocolate fudge in a big pot on the stove. But the best memory of all is of me standing on his feet and us dancing to big band music. I always felt like a princess as my dad twirled me around ala Ginger Rogers. Daddy has been gone 9 Christmases now and I would give nearly anything to be a little girl standing on his feet and being "danced" around the room while he crooned.
