DEAD MAN HAD RELATIVES IN EMPIRE, POLICE SAY
The Stanislaus County coroner's office Tuesday identified the robbery suspect who was shot dead by the owner of a Modesto sports memorabilia store Monday.
The man was Manuel Quijas, 24, but police are not sure where he lived. He had family in the Empire area, investigators said.
His parents were returning from the Los Angeles area, where they had been visiting relatives.
Officials said they know little about Quijas, who was carrying no identification
