You're right, I'm a James Beck lover. It's really good to see that the ATF is free to kill people when it is no longer convenient to prosecute them.

Your right to due process goes on hold when you shoot at the cops, and stays on hold until either (a) you reap what you sow, or (b) you drop your weapons and come out with your hands up.

Beck made his choice. Who are you to complain about him getting what he wanted?

It's funny that local police departments nab guys like this all the time without incident because they're patient enough to hit the guy at a place when he is out in the open and is least able to be a threat, or be shot quickly if he tries anything. If the ATF can't do the job as well as a lot of local police departments, what does that tell you? I don't feel a bit sorry for Beck, I feel bad for a cop that was unnecessarily killed because the ATF decided to create a seige situation instead of hitting this guy in an outside place where he would have no cover.
