PITTSBURGH (AP) -- A 37-year-old western Pennsylvania man has been indicted for allegedly threatening to kill President Bush and blow up the White House on the anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, authorities said.

James Trauger, of Mars, about 15 miles north of Pittsburgh, sent threatening e-mails to the White House on Sept. 11, according to an indictment handed down Dec. 17.

If convicted, Trauger faces as many as 10 years in prison and a $500,000 fine, assistant U.S. Attorney William Snyder said.

Trauger did not have a telephone number listed in Mars and could not be reached for comment by The Associated Press on Monday. It wasn't immediately clear if he had an attorney.

Do we have a treaty with Mars? Or will this bring up some serious jurisdictional issues? Anybody know how the government of Mars feels about the President? Oh, and do they look like the creatures in Mars Attacks, or was that just more Hollywood bs? Enquiring minds want to know.

And out comes the man from Mars.
And you try to run but he's got a gun.
And he shoots you dead and he eats your head.
And then you're in the man from Mars.
You go out at night eating cars.
You eat Cadillacs, Lincolns too.
Mercurys and Subaru.
And you don't stop.
You keep on eating cars.
Then when there's no more cars you go out at night
And eat up bars where the people meet.

Commuters on one Chicago line, I forget which, may recall the conductor's "Mars will be next, Mars!"

Did you know that there is at least one town in the U.S. named for every planet except one?

Guess which one.

Personally I can't understand it, since Carl Sagan taught us the 'proper' pronunciation.

We've spent millions to get a lander near it, and this guy is already e-mailing from there. Go figure.

That reminds me of a Star Trek episode where the enemy was invading our solar system. Nothing is more terrifying than Klingons around Uranus.

Oh brother are you ever paranoid. With the right weapon and manuever the Klingons around Uranus are easy to wipe out.
