Well I just got back. And the rumors of my slutdom are,,,well,,,something we are not commenting upon. And we never got to the group hug, another fight started soon after we were at the very point of reconciling. It has become clear to me that there is both an extreme distrust and disdain and suspicion of any form of law enforcement, a profound distrust of the government and a determination on the part of some people not to be trifled with at all. Whether that is a good thing or not, I am not sure. In general I trust most law enforcement, do not believe the government is intent upon seizing our liberties {there are a few I would suggest they seize but noone listens to me} and I don't think a minor infringement on us at airports is a threat to the republic. But hey, maybe we are all sheep. I sure don't feel like one.

Goodness - over 500 posts now. We need to sue the Portland airport for all the time they've cost us. Thanks for the note.

I think most of us are willing to suffer through tighter security. I usually give the airport guys a running play by play -or more of a color commentary. But I think most of us find abuse of authority infuuuuuuuurrrriating --much to our credit.

I particularly find it irritating (but amusing) when I run into one of those real Barney Fife types -- usually the source of family stories for years.

Time to finish last night's burrito.
