I've never needed the knife on the plane, so it's no big deal.
Nope, it's no big deal, until you need it."
Nah. A stock knife is a crappy weapon. You can't stab with it, because the blade will fold. Slashing is a bad offense, since you leave yourself open. I'd rather be bare-handed than try to use a folding stock knife as a weapon. It's a tool, for cutting stuff and for cleaning your fingernails. I would never miss it if I were called upon to fight with someone.

Sometimes you need a knife just to cut something, like a seatbelt, or a bandage tail, or a piece of emergency air mask tubing to use as a tourniquet. And when you need it, you REALLY need it.
Now, I suspect you haven't had much training in knife fighting. I would gladly take your little stockman into a fight (if I can't have my tactical shotgun or at least my Glock) rather than go bare handed. I can slice and dice with that little blade well enough to distract a T with a boxcutter. We'll both get bloody, but I'll survive, because I have the will.
Sheep. Baaah.
