Americans wouldn't recognize a free country if they saw one. And it appears that it is becoming progressively more likely that most Americans will never see a free country. At least I am old enough to have been there and done that. A lot of kids today would feel perfectly at home in the Nazi or Soviet youth corps.

I agree. Note yesterday's story about a man on board an airliner in Madison, Wisc. who reportedly told the pilot "I hope you aren't drinking." He was fined $225, and the case has been referred to the FBI for possible felony charges. It's a different country than I grew up in.
