Well you can certainly add things to the story that aren't there (as an outsider) and then make judgements about him.

He was there. It happened to him. He wrote his story.

You weren't there. It didn't happen to you.

That's all I have to go on.

"But the poor old guy doing the screening, listening to this guy grumble about everything, sighing, geeze, the screener is the "man",,he is just a regular guy, doing his job, early in the morning, being subjected to the citizen of the year, the great patriot, in a bad irritable mood takiing it out on whoever is there."

You are adding more to the story that isn't there, again.

" I don't see the screener as the "government..."

He is a federal employee. He is part of the government.

warrantless search? When you go to an airport, this happens. If you don't want it, don't go. I am suggesting that the left and the right on either end are screamiing constantly about anything that remotely steps on their dearly cherished ideas. yeah, we have to keep them from burning the cities and forming vigilante squads. Mostly we have to fly safely and peacefully. And this jerk didn't make it safer or more peaceful to fly. I like authority, I like peace, I like a safe living environment without gun toting thugs and people who don't have any respect for the rules or the rights of others around them. You prefer anarchy? With you making your own rules? With everyone either declining or permitting searches and screens at airports? It is not going to happen. Hope your head doesn't explode here, but most Americans aren't off in that fringe area of paranoic distrust of authority and institutions.

He was there. It happened to him. He wrote his story.

Let's rewrite that to be accurate as far as we know:

He says he was there. He says it happened to him. He wrote his story.

Well, I don't believe everything peoople say happened to them. The tendancy of people is to give accounts that put them in the best light, especially if they distort. If you believe his account because he says so, well be my guest.

Read his account,,he says all of it from the grumbliing to the getting all angry at having to take off his hat, takiing off his hat!!! Now that is a petty thing and he was mad about it. Reread his account, he was ready to roll and started yelling at the first chance he got.

And the poor little government screener, and the LEO's never do?

They are "people", are they not?

Just because they have a federal job doesn't "automatically" make them honest.

Ever noticed all the stories of all the federal screening employees and security people that have been arrested and charged lately for filing false applications?

I honestly can't say I wouldn't have reacted the same way. Sorry you don't understand. It's a testosterone thing I suppose.

I learned to stop thinking with my genitals at about 19 years old.

So, this guy is an accountant. Ever notice all these accounting firms in trouble with all the hinky corporate stuff lately. why believe him??? Sometiimes I read people's accounts of thiings done to them that were wrong, and they are believable, utterly. This time there is a whole other tone and not only do I not believe all of his tale, I think he is distorting mightily. I have yet to hear anyone say how he helped his wife orhis situation in any way. This was all about his hubris. And to act as though an airport screener should pay the price as the government is ludicrous. And if a person so distrusts the government, does that mean everyone who works for the government is corruped, lying, etc. And that as citizens, we all ought to give them hell while they try to do a job. It is the culture of distrust, blaming everything on someone, and loving a self styled "victim",,this guy is playing the victim card in order to cover up his totally inadequacy in dealing with life and his temper in an early morning rather routine exercise. He showed no self restraint, very poor judgement and now he is publicly trying to "prove" he was right. If he were my husband, I would be dying of shame at his foolishness.

I have noted that when men act like goons, embarass themselves, lose their tempers, embarass their wives, end up getting put in the clink or getting into a fight which invariably costs someone time and money,,they claim testesterone like somehow they are more manly than others. I see that as a totally juvenile defense,,real men don't get mad and get arrested at airports thus humiliating their pregnant wives and then whine about it publicly. They get on their plane, control themselves and get even at a later date.

unless, of course, the airlines find that such a course of action turns away customers. Ain't the free market great?

Unless of course, the customers feel more reassured with the added security and flock to the more diligent carriers. My family wouldn't fly on a carrier that would skrimp on security, perfect target for hijack attempts.

...Yeah, you're right. Any husband should be happy to allow any Federal employee to grop his wife in public. Either you're with us, or against us...

I mean, really. How do we know that Baby wasn't an Al Queda operative in waiting. And she coulda been hiding bombs in those boobs.

This commie pig should shut his pie hole.

He needs to remember 9/11, and hand his wife over to any Federal employee who needs to cop a feel...

I have extreme doubts as to its having happened as the author describes it--or, for that matter, at all.

I like authority, I like peace,

Do you love authority and peace more than dignity and freedom?

I like a safe living environment without gun toting thugs and people who don't have any respect for the rules or the rights of others around them. You prefer anarchy?

Really, it doesn't seem that way. All that I ask is that my right to self defense and my right to be secure in my person be honored. Every time I do so I am confronted by gun toting thugs. It is you who are inviting anarchy by revising the social contract.

With everyone either declining or permitting searches and screens at airports? It is not going to happen.

It does happen and the choice belongs to the aircraft owner and the pilot, not the Feds. I fly without being searched and carrying a sidearm all the time.

most Americans aren't off in that fringe area of paranoic distrust of authority and institutions.

Why do insist on using the words WE and MOST.Do you not feel comfortable speaking for yourself? Why do you insist on ventriloquizing the mob? This sort of mobocratic mentality is precisely what Constitutional Republics are formed to guard against.
