I am saying he served her interests horribly by making the situation worse for both of them.
Maybe, but hindsight is 20/20. It's easy to quarterback things like this in the past tense.
Regardless, as the story is written it does lok like he is the "victim" I feel sorry for both of them and I don't have allot of sympathy for the airport screeners.
But of course, from people who govern with logic like: "well, the facts as presented are obviously wrong. everyone knows the truth lies somewhere in the middle of everything" I would expect such idiocy.
Like I said, I hope you or someone you love is next missy.
It would serve you right.

Sounds like this guy has an anger problem.
I fly, I get serched, I remove my shoes. I don't like it, and say so, calmly.
When they pull me out, and ask me to take off my shoes, I do say, "You're kidding, right? Do you have any idea how long these have been on? You might want to wash your hands after." Calmly, and with a smile on my face.
They get it, I get it, shoes are searched, and I get my seat.
That said, I avoid flying. My Delta Silver thing is not going to get renewed.

I don't believe this man has related anything about his behavior that indicated to anyone that he was a clear and present threat to security.
It's supposed to be about security afterall, not authoritarian violation of our security. Neither is it about compliance to someone who doesn't need to be accountable.
Suggest you don't walk close to me CJ, when someone nearby acts outrageously abusive. ;-o

It takes a real man to comfort his wife in a time of need rather than strutting his stuff in an sad attempt to be a man.Comfort? What the heck are you talkin' about? If I had been treated that way and my husband didn't object, I would never respect him.

They're slowly figuring it out.
I know.
They thought they were REALLY onto somethign when they found mine in my carry on.. Oh my! They acted like it was a hand grenade.
They didn't think much of my asking: "What am I going to do, manicure everyone?" either, truth be told.
They didn't have a problem with my steel Cross pen though. I could ram that sucker right through your heart, but no nail clippers.
Wouldn't be prudent.

Yeah, actually the wife told the gyn that her trauma was the baby moving around vigorously while the airport thing was going on. I guess they are planning to sue using that as their evidence. I smell not just a whiner, but a whiner with a tort lawyer,,,the worst kind of whiner. A suing whiner. A whiner with a mission. A whiner with a new baby. Maybe he will get distracted and forget all this like most grown ups do.

Re your # 169
For those who fly frequently and are fair minded, it is evident that airport security is poor in terms of who and how people are searched as well as the competence of the people searching. A major portion of the exersise is show...and a poor one at that.
Nonetheless, this person went ballistic and it appears he did not just suffer in silence like the rest of us, hoping that at some point in the future the government may employ (1) get rid of the absurdity of mr. Mineta and get a leader who is truly devoted to saving lives, and (2) aquire a similar program (modified to some degree) to the system used by Israel which works extremely well as they are surrounded by these wanton killers every minute.

My question wasn't about the ACLU's racial biases, real or imagined. I highlighted the last sentence for a reason:
So we called the ACLU, figuring they existed for just such incidents as these. And they do apparently...but only if we were minorities. Thats what they told us.
Do you really believe that the ACLU, however biased they may (or may not) be, would tell a caller that?

And I hope the next airport screener who crosses your path treats you professionally, and that you are kind. If I make an incorrect judgment call in my job, people don't die because of it. So I respect people who do face that every day.

"and think he blew whatever credibility he may have had when he tried to say his wife's baby was breech because he got arrested."
You may want to talk with an OB/GYN about it. At least re-read.

I said that in anger.

Who knows how it actually looked. But temper tantrums are not smart in airports. Right. And while being frisked and felt up by the JBT, keep your eyes averted on the floor and speak in a very low voice, and answer each instruction with "Yes, Massah." Looking directly at a TSA employee without the proper aura of respect will get you a trip to the little room.

Sure, it's just a matter of telephone screening. No skin of their noses.
