Hey thanks for the voice mail last night. I probably shoulda said it was my office number...

Anyhoo, it looks like even more bits of truth are emerging from this panel of dozens. Let's see.

Border bandits find it easier to hide among the illegals -- close. Unfortunately the banditos are freelance punks and they piss off the cartels by drawing unwanted attention, sometimes to the wrong areas. The cartels view the illegals as their own private decoys. I'm still waiting to see somebody here pop to the right conclusion on why illegals are still valuable to the cartels after they reach their new home. Any takers?

You are partially correct on your answer to the homework assignment. Money is the root, but the real answer is control; actually, control of two separate groups -- one large, one small. Do some reading on Santeria. It is not directly related to Saint Death, but there are some parallels. The connection is not so much in their beginnings as in what they became later. For extra credit, take a look at methods used by the Viet Cong in the early '60s; ignore ideologies and think about why this concept works almost anywhere.

Hello, JackelopeBreeder,

I've been lurking on this thread, successfully resisting the temptation to jump in to the fire, until now. My curiosity overcame the fear of looking like a fool (like this would be the first time anyway), so here is my best guess.

Do those illegals also serve as "distributors" for the Recreational Pharmaceutical, Inc., after they reach their destination?

Thanks for your ping on that other thread. As I can't chew gum, drink whiskey (sorry no tequila -- but I do have a GREAT story about the last time I drank tequila... it somehow involved a lesbian bar in Asuncion, Paraguay... but maybe I'm remembering it all wrong) and navigate FR at the same time...

So here's my question, inspired by the other thread, and this:

Is the illegal scene different in CA, AZ, NM, and TX, and if so, how and why? I suppose the most important distinctions are between CA and TX, but I throw in the others as they have problems, too.

PS Tell Chong I want, at least, a bad photocopy of your autographed photo...
