Now we find out that her family hasn't spoken to her in years, yet to many, this is a leader on the subject of morality.

Let me see if I can explain it to you. When people go from a un-religous life to a religious life they change. Things they used to do they don't do any more. Things they used to believe they no longer believe. For Dr. Laura that change happen about 15 or twenty years ago.

Admitting that you were wrong and changing your entire out look on life is not easy. That is why few people do it. And people who do it are to be respected.

She now has things mostly right.

Laura apparently missed that "Honor thy father and thy mother" thing ...

Looks like her sister wanted no more to do with Laura than her mother did.

Evidently the sister wasn't checking on Mum on a regular basis. Sounds like Laura came from a pretty disfunctional family.

I have a neice who she and I have a strained relationship mostly because I'm conservative and she is liberal.

We also live on opposite sides of the country so we don't bump into each other at Walmart or anywhere.

Maybe Laura is a little bit too conservative for her family, ya think?

If you don't like here, take your sorry former power-lifting carcase over to Liberty Post and join the mental masturbators for a feeble frolic there.

"Laura apparently missed that "Honor thy father and thy mother" thing ..."

Hard to do sometimes when the very person you are trying to honor chases you away.

Life and relationships ain't simple.

Heck, look at me and AllSmiles.

I want to be his friend. He wants me banned.

Go figure.

More likely, the mother was like you. Who would voluntarily visit the black plague of bitterness?

What is suspicious is the fact that Yolanda Schlessinger failed to pay her condo association dues for months and no one did anything about it.

Is it fun making up facts and then wondering why those things happened?

Oh, yeah. Ol' Dr, Laura is a piece of work, to be sure. While married she was cheating on her husband with some much older guy and allowing him to photograph her in numerous positions, naked. The guy had the pictures published and they were all over the web. They may still be but she fought hard to get them off. She admitted to the whole deal too. Try a "naked Dr Laura" search and see if anything is still out there.

Yes, and isn't it so very hypocritical the way she summarily pronounces judgement and ridicules to the extreme ANYONE who has made mistakes, and a lot of them far LESS immoral than what she formerly did.

Hey Laura: people change, sometimes for the better. Just like you.

(Jewish mother mode ON) Was a care and welfare phone call once a month too expensive on Laura's calling plan? (Jewish mother mode OFF)

Heck, look at me and AllSmiles. I want to be his friend. He wants me banned.

A true friend can accept the word "no" and not take it personally.

"Hey Laura: people change, sometimes for the better. Just like you."

I promise, that from this day forward, I will never change.

It just leads to recriminations.

funny how some refuse to see the change in someones life and only want to harp about all the "bad" things which are, as we all know, part of her past.

The old saying, "that which we judge harshest in others, is that which we hate most about ourselves" might apply to some here..........

She had a close relationship with her father.

I'll just bet she did ...

Guess people are off the hook for the last 5 Commandments as long as they observe the first five.

Like all those Catholic Priests?

That comment does not deserve a reply.

I'll bet those exact words were uttered by the Japanese guy stalking Britney Spears.
