Clinton Hypocrisy. Southern Democrats Promoted Segregation, Not Republicans

Republicans, who have criticized the incoming Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott, have been called hypocrites by none other than Bill Clinton.

“How do they think they got a majority in the South anyway? I think what they are really upset about is that he made public their strategy.” Clinton said on Wednesday. The impeached former President and convicted perjurer also claimed Republicans suppressed the black vote in the South and “ran on the Confederate flag” issue.

Based on his own history, Bill Clinton is the last person who should lecture Republicans about race. If there is any hypocrite on this issue, it is him.

When it comes to the Confederate flag issue, Clinton has conveniently forgotten who raised it in South Carolina. It was Democrat Senator Ernest Hollings who was Governor of South Carolina in 1962. He raised the flag above the state capitol in an act of defiance to civil rights. In later years, Hollings referred to blacks as “darkies” and the Rainbow PUSH Coalition the “Blackbow Coalition.”

Speaking of such, what about the Arkansas state flag? In 1923 a single star was added above the state’s name to recognize its membership in the Confederacy. In the five terms he served as Arkansas’ governor, Bill Clinton never changed it.

What about Clinton’s ties to segregationists? Former Arkansas Senator J. William Fulbright was given the Presidential Medal of Freedom by Clinton in 1993. In the ceremony, he referred to Fulbright as “my mentor.”

Another Arkansas segregationist, Orval Faubus, was another one of Clinton’s political mentors. Faubus was the governor who tried to stop the integration of Little Rock High School in 1957 by using the Arkansas National Guard. Integration occurred after President Dwight D. Eisenhower, a Republican, superseded Faubus and nationalized the Arkansas National Guard.

But the Clinton hypocrisy on race doesn’t end there. There is evidence and allegations that the use of racial slurs was common in the Clinton family. According to retired Arkansas State Trooper, Larry Patterson, Clinton called some of his black critics and opponents “niggers.” Has anyone asked Hillary when was the last time she referred to anyone as a “f--king Jew bastard?”

Then there is half brother Roger, the recipient of a Presidential Pardon from his big brother. Roger was caught on a 1984 police surveillance videotape saying, “Some junior high nigger kicked Steve’s ass while he was trying to help his brothers out; junior high or sophomore in high school. Whatever it was, Steve had the nigger down. However it was, it was Steve’s fault. He had the nigger down, he let him up. The nigger blindsided him.” With the exception of NewsMax.com and Sean Hannity’s radio show, none of the above made the mainstream news. However, you can bet your life earnings it would be front page news if one of President Bush’s brothers had a Roger Clinton moment. The same would be true if a Texas State Trooper ever alleged Bush used racial slurs as Governor of Texas.

Clinton’s words about Republicans and race are not only hypocritical, they are insulting to Republicans and Southerners. He is aiding liberal media pundits who are currently revising Southern history. Republicans need to stop attacking Sen. Lott and start educating Americans about the truth of Republicans and race. Clinton’s hypocrisies provide the ammunition to present the truth of who really promoted Southern segregation - Southern Democrats.

I appreciate what Kevin Willmann is trying to say, but official Bush Administration policy is to accept Klinton's version of history.

Time to welcome the Reagan Democrats home. Independents can tag along. I believe the Dem's behavior the past two weeks has cost them everything in 2004. The best part is, they won't realize it and will continue down their own path of self destruction.

Tell the lie loud enough and long enough to as many listeners as possible and it will, in the eyes of the media and the faithful of the liers and the weak-minded people become the truth.

It's like the Jedi mind-tricks on the weak-minded: "these are not the droids you are looking for"..."these are not the droids we're looking for"..."we'll just be moving along about our business"..."move along about your business"...

The Dark Lord of the Sith Klinton knows this, Boba McCauliffett knows this as does Darth Daschle and the rest of the liberal "clones" and Imperial Forces.
