The new governor of GA will either change the flag back or put it up to a vote, like Mississippi did.

Fred Barnes last night quoted some interesting facts, I would be interested to know if you have other facts to dispute it:

  1. The Republican Gubenatorial candidate in Georgia did not run a single ad about the flag issue.
  2. The Republican Gubenatorial candidate in Georgia did not produce a single flyer about the flag issue.
  3. The Republican Gubenatorial candidate in Georgia addressed the flag issue only when directly questioned about it.
  4. Exit polling indicated that the flag issue was 7th or 8th down the list in importance to the voters who voted.
  5. Exit polling indicated that of those few voters to whom the flag issue was important that they were roughly split between those voting for the Democrat and those voting for the Pub.
Upshot: Pub did not use it as a top issue and did not campaign for it. Of that few percentage of voters who were moved by the issue just as many voted for the Dem as for the pub.

Now, is Barnes wrong? Can you cite different data? I am truly interested if you can because Barnes was quite adamant about his facts but he is the only one I have heard on the Pub side talking about it.

Pelosi shouldn't have opened her yap, she's got her own racism problems:

According to B-1 Bob Dornan, while the voting in the House on partial-birth abortion ban was going on, Pelosi charged Bob and yelled: "How can you do this?! What if your daughter was raped by a black man?!"

Dornan replied that his daughter would raise and love the child, "....but what difference does it make if it was a black man Nancy? That's a racist statement you just made."

Pelosi threw her hands up and stormed off screeching.

Let's get B-1 Bob on O'Reily to relate THAT story to the American sheeple.

Nancy Pelosi, Barbara Mikulski and I have almost an identical background. (I knew them before Kennedy was elected!) I CANNOT understand how either one of them can, in 2002, still spout the traditional Dem 'save the downtrodden, by keeping them on the plantation' mantra. Especially given the illustration of the great successes Democrat policies have had in Baltimore.

reply that Republicans are more concerned about things like creating opportunities for every American, and keeping our country safe, than whether some people want to hang on to a symbol of history.

Yes, by all means, like the US Constitution which is by and large ignored and has been since the War. That's a just a symbol too I suppose?

"first time the republicans have joined forces with the democrats to destroy one of their own"

Well, there was Packwood.

Apparently some believe that after forcing his resignation we were never accused of being sexists again.

I watched the ugly hag make her statement. And it got me thinking.

I'm inclined to believe that the DemocRATs are scared to death of losing a lot of their black support to President Bush and to other Republicans.

What the Republicans could do to help that along is to make an early and strong push for school vouchers to let the poor kids in the lousy inner city schools get out of the trap that they are in.

And they should start making the case for private accounts for Social Security, with emphasis on how that allows the blacks and others to begin building wealth.

Senator Frist is the kind of guy who can articulate this kind of stuff.

And wasn't it Hollings that said something about the UN allowing the Africans to stop eating each other and getting a free lunch in Geneva?

mrs...

Packwood was guilty of unseemly things of a personal nature. Lott was destroyed by what happened 40 years ago, when it was all the doings of democrats. There was not a pub in sight.

As for old bob Packwood, if all the congressmen were tossed because of such naughty things, Washington would be a ghost town.

The public is very skeptical of politicians of both parties. They assume everything is about gaining political advantage.

They didn't buy what the Dems were selling on 11/5 because they saw it as empty rhetoric.

"Blacks are the glue that holds the Democratic Party together." ...Michael Barone After the losses in the last election, Democrats need a little more glue, a lesson learned in their one significant victory in Louisiana.

I think Rush is correct in saying Dems can hold this minority base together, it is the Regan Democrats that they are losing.

DU should continue to focus on the DLC's primary objective of putting people against each other. Leaves the adults in charge to do things to help people be successful in this great country. I'll have to visit DU soon to read about their mobilization effort to oust former Klansman Robert Byrd D-West Virginia....

Emboldened by their success in removing Lott, the demoRAT elitists are going to exploit the race issue to the fullest, not that they haven't done it before. The demoRATS power lies in the deliberate manipulation of the minorities and the general uninformed masses of a "PERCEIVED" wrong via the mainstream liberal press. Collectively people are stupid and will believe anything the press tells them to believe. Therefore, the liberal media espouses whatever the demoRATS tell them to believe. This was quite evident with the hatchet job done on Lott. Vicious!

A message to black Americans:

There's only one party where you will be not be herded into a group, where you will be judged not by the color of your skin, but by the content of your character, and that party is the Republican party!

On Fox they just said the Democrat party just released papers to the press on McConnell, Frist, Nichols and others. In other words, they have released their initial race war salvo. And the press has demonstrated they are thrilled to carry water to start this race war. Prepare for tired ears for the next few years. Hopefully the country won't buy it.
