Godwin's Law prov.
[Usenet] "As a Usenet discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Nazis or Hitler approaches one." There is a tradition in many groups that, once this occurs, that thread is over, and whoever mentioned the Nazis has automatically lost whatever argument was in progress. Godwin's Law thus practically guarantees the existence of an upper bound on thread length in those groups.

If he were really dedicated to being pro-life, he would have divested himself just so he could sleep at night. His family is irrelevant, and so is his run for ML--it's just that it makes him more visible now. Before this, most people were happy to see him vote the right way.
Of course, Lott always voted the right way, too. But it was clear to everyone that he had no principles or spine. Will Frist be better?

Frist's familiy (I know a few of them here) are some of the wealthiest in the country.
They manage many many hospitals. To my knowledge there are only 2 baby killing mills here in Nashville but I would not be suprised if some of their hospitals don't at least serve as a conduit.
That aside...I like Frist but like the rest...he's a moderate mostly on social issues. Unlike Kerry or Corzine, his wealth (family has billions) will be hung around his neck on tax debate. He does give a pleasant enough "face" though.

a major shareholder in HCA, a for-profit hospital chain founded by his father and brother. HCA reportedly provides abortions to its customers. ...and sonograms, and deliveries, and colonoscopies, and appendectomies....and EVERYTHING. They run hospitals! What an imbicile this author is.
I OWN this stock, as do millions of other Americans.
Columbia/HCA's stock has risen over 100% in the last 2 years. It is a mainstream Wall Street company.
How pathetic for "Human Events" to put out an article such as this. My respect for them has all but evaporated. I am hopeful that Dr. Frist and his supporters will get a chuckle out of this nonsense, but otherwise ignore it, as one would ignore a National Enquirer report on aliens.

They aborted a kidney stone on me. It was to save the life of the "mother" so I guess it was ok.

It's silly to even discuss this matter with your holier-than-thou types.

Well, whatever. People with no principles have trouble with the Nazis because they don't like the idea of absolute right and wrong.
You can throw around the "one-issue" epithet all you like, but neither of you answered the question. So let me put it another way--are Americans "one-issue" voters if they won't elect someone who praises Osama bin Laden and the Sept. 11 attacks? Are they one-issue voters if they won't support someone who helps fund terrorists?

Just as I oppose islamist-mullah-dictatorships, run by sharia law, I would suppose it should be okay to oppose running the USA under fundamentalist Christian laws, too. I'll gladly join you in that sentiment, if you don't mind.

I know all about "they". We're Roman Catholics. But we're logically thinking Catholics.

All this "Frist is pro-abortion" revisionist stuff is being delibrately put out by Lott supporters as a last ditch effort to save their guy. Frist's record speaks for itself. 100% rating from National Right to Life,
Please prove this to me, I need to know. My son worked for the Senate until a couple years ago. He told me that Frist prayed everyday before going onto the floor He was unaware of this pro-abortion stand that is being reported. I need to know the truth, this is a nightmare.
To: Howlin
Are you honestly UPSET because his FAMILY is in the medical business and there are abortions, which is perfectly legal, performed there?I think most conservatives would agree that the right-to-life falls within the term "Family Values".
