He's for the three exceptions, as are most of us. Try to find some truthful cut and paste.

Little boys and little girls in the womb will one day grow up to be little boys and little girls out of the womb.
They then have the opportunity to grow up into bigger boys and bigger girls and eventually men and women.
You have rights, given by God and protected by law in America. Why shouldn't little boys and girls in the womb. If you have a problem with this, try abstinence or the Elder's Program...

Some of you will never be satisfied. It makes little difference who the GOP puts in leadership they would get sliced and diced on this board. ACU ratings are a small snapshot of a Senator's worth. An 88% vs. a 95% rating? Certainly not a disqualifier where I live.
The overriding concern here is does Frist move the ball forward? This is more a matter of being able to put a favorable face on the Conservative agenda. Frist does that. The White House backs him because they calculate he can work with them and get the agenda done. A fellow "compassionate Conservative".
Elections are won and lost in the Suburbs. The target Suburban women. A likeable MD with good "bedside manner" is far better at this point than someone reminding folks of the glories of "Jim Crow".
I like Don Nickels. I like Rick Santurum. I like Mitch McConnell. However, they all have flaws and we'd pick them apart, too. Seems to me Bill Frist has made few enemies. Has a solid Conservative background and record. Give it a rest.

Well, your insulting rhetoric about prolifers 'infesting' the GOP is a joke. Remove the 'infestation', and the Republican Party would never win another national election, because it would cease to exist.
Later.

"My guys" were not tarring and feather him; they merely wouldn't come out and defend him when he refused to denouce segregation.
He apologized.. several times.
Called it "immoral and wrong" I think were his words.
Truth is, the "conservatives" hung him over impeachment and his idiotic comment, it had nothing to do with racism.
And I HATE HIM ANYWAY so, it's fine with me if he goes.. but it shouldn't have been over this.
Pick anything else you wish and it's good enough, just not a false charge from the moral watch dogs over at the CBC and Jack$on Inc.

LOL! Not before you crucified him on a false charge. I don't know about others on here... but I turned against Lott when he decided to save his ass by pandering to the far left Maxine Waters wing of the Democratic party and then even endorsed affirmative action. If affirmative action isn't racist, then I don't know what is.

So no doctor can perform an abortion no matter what? No. No matter what.
Read what your saying man because you're sounding a little freeky ?
Then I'll wear "freeky" as a badge of honor.

**He is also big into harvesting humans out like crops for their stem cells, which I find as morally reprehensible as abortion.**
Thanks for your first hand knowledge here! And for the double ping! LOL!

"Conservatives make up a large majority of the base of the GOP, but are woefully underrepresented in its leadership, both within the Party and in elected office in Washington.
This choice exacerbates that problem, whereas the choice of Nickles would have helped ameliorate it.
Having said that, I am not blind to the progress we have made, especially in mainstreaming our ideas and principles. IOW, we are losing lots of battles, but winning the ideological war, slowly but surely."
Another great post that I heartily agree with EV.

**During last year's stem-cell debate, Frist proposed using leftover embryos from in vitro fertilization clinics for scientific research.** Karsus responded: They are destroyed anyway so what is the harm in using them for research?
I would assume from your response and question that you already think that creating embryos in vitro is wrong, but because they had already been created and subsequently died, why shouldn't we use them for research?
I would submit that using these "byproducts" of creation (although, IMO in vitro fertiliation is an evil, but non-the-less life is created) for research simply helps "encourage" the creation of life simply to destroy it for research. This is a terrible, terrible, road to go down. Didn't the Nazi's play similar games with studying/experimenting on twins, and "playing" with genetics in trying to create the "super race"?
This is really no different than using the fetus from an abortion for "harvesting" organs or tissue for research. If you believe life begins at conception, then using the remains of a human being that has been conceived (whether by "normal" means or "in vitro") for scientific experimention is wrong. (IMHO).

Good luck....this president (who I spent beacoup time and money on after 8 years of hell) is in the end a moderate conservative. He (and Rove) think they can replicate the minority improvement in voting Pubbie they got in Tejas in DC. He's got an outside chance with established Latinos but if he picks up over a 2% increase in the black vote....I'll eat crow for a month....as his daddy says: "ain't gonna happen".
This administration decent as it is has not taken a strong social conservative stand on anything besides Ashcroft declaring that in his view RKBA applies to individuals yet they won't back a case that tests that.
One could surmise the faith based initiative was another and there have been a few smal things under the wire but no "change of the tone" policy direction yet like we had with Maximus.
Since there is no alternative, I'll still be there but just a bit more jaded than in 00.
They will never ever take the media head on....no way.

"What do you think he was talking about, pulling for Alabama instead of Ole Miss?"
Ole Miss vs Nebraska in the Independence Bowl after Christmas. Go Hapless Huskers! (I'm a hard core B12 fan)

That's an admission of being a racist.I think you're stretching a little, but anyone that will say anything to remain in power is a danger to this country and should be removed. Ok that leaves about two people to run the government.
To: EternalVigilance
I agree.... losing that war one battle at a time.... Kinda like winning them political races without a horse that can run with the big boys.... Port and starboard... gonna move to the port side a little more. JMO of course...

Oh, I agree, but I don't think he should be cut ANY slack after that performance on BET. I'm just not going to sit back and watch tour all the "sacred" racist sites with John Lewis, one of his new black buddies.
Reconciliation, my butt.

We WERE all once a former fetus, weren't we?
To: Sir Gawain
I'm not the only one who thought that was an admission. I guess you had to see the whole interview.
BTW, who are the two? Can you name them?

Outlawing abortion is dumb, regulating it is the way to go.
