Marilyn Monroe, Jane Russell would probably be too big for Hollywoord today.

True. We got the media looking at gay fashion designers choices, trying to say that Playboy men like women shaped like little boys. Garbage.

Anna Nicole seems to have plenty to spare. Maybe she could donate 100lbs to the effort?

What happened to her?

She went from looking hot and healthy to having the undernourished skeletal look. It is now actually PAINFUL to look at Jennifer Connelly. Think Karen Carpenter and you get the picture.

There are two problems with skinny girls with implants:

1. The superstructure promises much, but doesn't deliver the complex motions reminiscent of the North Atlantic during a Nor 'easter or the Raiders running the West Coast offense when a natural woman moves. God grants us the grace to identify this phenomenon at great distances even when the most powerful bifocals leave us mostly blind. I believe in retention of all God-given senses.

2. Second, I am told, the superstructure doesn't offer the ideal mix of suppleness with firmness one hopes for. The effect is very much like the Chobham armor on a M1-A2 Abrams tank -- unyielding enough to stop a Sagger missile dead in its tracks, but not supple enough to bring insistent emotions into play.

The overall effect is disappointing. Hence, the steady loss of the mag's readership, circulation, advertising base, and buzz. Norma Jean, where are you when Christy really needs you?

If Petra competes in the Olympics, I think the Committee can definitely waive the chromosome test for eligiblity for women's events.

I've read that Marilyn Monroe was probably a size 14 in her later career years. Today size 14 approaches what is considered borderline with overweight sizes, and in many stores can be found in the large women's section, though once of course real women looked that way.

A size 14 in the 50s is a size 10 today. Things were cut differently back then.

I posted this on another thread regarding this issue (and in these trying times, can ANY person here who lays claim to the title of "MAN" deny the importance of this debate?) and it looks like a good second place for it:

An interesting disconnect here...think about it. In modern erotica (okay, PORN) most of the starlets (not that ANY FReeper men would EVER watch any such movies or videos...) are, in fact, quite curvy and voluptuous, even to the point of surgically enhancing those features.

Remember, these women, more than perhaps any other, earn a living by being the objects of male sexual fantasies and desires. They would NOT seek to look like something men would find unnatractive.

Contrast this with the alleged "supermodels". Most fashion models are taller, thinner, and bonier than most porn actresses. Many do, in fact, resemble heroin addicts. A simple image search on Google revealed these contrasts, in graphic detail.

Point is, (with Playboy being the notable exception), modern men DO prefer the voluptuous look, at least if their preference in sexually stimulating imagery is any guide. Why MODELS, on the other hand, are skewed towards the "gaunt, waif" look probably DOES have more to do with the preference of the clothing designers they work for than previously thought.

BTW, a quick look at a few recent copies of Playboy (in the interest of science, of course) reveals that whilst their models have slimmed down some, few would ever be seen on a high-fashion runway even now.

Simply put, a woman with some curves looks HEALTHY and FERTILE, qualities which have for the breadth of human history have been sexual triggers for men. The supermodels, by contrast, look SICK and WEAK, historical repulsors for mate-seeking males.

Just the two bits worth from a normal, healthy American man.
