Here's another reason why some didn't claim their money. Also, tucked away in that ever so troubling last paragraph.

" Gabriela Lemus, director of policy and legislation for the League of United Latin American Citizens, said as much as $21 billion in Social Security payments have not been tracked to potential beneficiaries, most likely because they were paid under a false Social Security number. "

Look.....all I am saying is......don't ASSUME that all that is wanted is going to be granted. There are issues that ARE more pressing than some ASSUMED deal being brokered. I do NOT see the administration making adjustments for real deposits made by phantom workers to phantom recipients. But because some media source says it is so....we form our circle and get our panties in yet another wad. So many of these 'wads' turn out to be nothing. And yet, we expend considerable energy and angst AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN based on rumors, biased reporting, and unnamed sources. And most times, it is wasted energy as these are only trial balloons meant to inflame us.

WEll, if it was a false SS #, it probably belonged to someone else. Why aren't they collecting it? Why can't they just check with the person who 'owns' that number? This doesn't make sense. It sounds good - but I couldn't even file this under misinformation - it goes right to the propaganda file.
