Most guys I know in construction make more than 19K if they're even halfway competent (even 20 years ago when I was doing that kind of work and it was seasonal).

How can one possibly be a construction worker nowadays and make only 19k?

My question exactly. That's less than 10 bucks an hour. I see where maybe he only nets 19K, or maybe that's all he shows as taxable income, but, come on...you can make 19K flipping burgers. Construction pays more than that. He can't be working at it full time.
