What he neglects to mention: If there is an outbreak of smallpox who do you think will get the vaccine first? You or the cabinet members? you or elected officials? Pretty easy to turn down the opportunity if you know you will have immediate access to it if needed.

Thompson is probably correct for three reasons. The administration has yet to fully disclose why they think this is absolutely necessary...other than 'intelligence reports indicate'....which kinda makes one wonder who the wonder boys are who are helping the bad guys to make this and where the lab is...cause we ought to just plain destroy the lab right now this minute. As for number two...it is absolutely true that if we do a mass vaccine handout....well over 200 people will die...and another 1000 to 1500 will suffer major health problems...which leads back to reason one...why aren't we hunting for the lab and the idiots who are developing this and just plain killing them. And reason number three...what next? Will there be another virus or bacteria that someone develops and we have to take vaccine two or perhaps even vaccine three? You can be sure of it. Which leads back to reason one...we need to kill a few folks and make any evil-doer worry about his life...and how many seconds he has to live.
