You conflate two issues here that are not mutually inclusive.
You can be for removing Trent Lott as majority leader prior to this bs and yet you can resist jumping on the lynch Lott bus with the race card players.
I don't find anything admirable at all in your use of this incident to dump Lott.
When FR becomes a popularity contest let me know.
That's politics. He has become a liability.
Tell me, what is admirable about hamstringing our Senate, letting the Dems make us the Party of Lott, and couging up the Legislative and Executive Branches in two years, just because it galls you to concede a lost and worthless cause to the Democrats?
It's all about self-congratualtion and spite for Lott defenders; any downside to Lott stepping down goes threefold for him staying.
If the Democrats want to do us a favor, let them.
Your strategy is like fighting to keep the Germans from blowing up a bridge you wanted down anyway.
Ditto. And, thanks for putting it so clearly.
The only think I'd add is this question: "Now that it's okay to bork a Republican, who's next?"
