GREAT SUMMATION POST BUMP #255
To: ApesForEvolution
Inasmuch as Trent Lott was in kindergarten in 1948, he did not vote for Thurmond. He did not run on a "similar" platform to the Dixiecrats. He did not write a jacket-flap endorsement calling a segregationist an "American Dreamer."
The idea that Lott took the occasion of an old timer's birthday to introduce a new policy initiative to bring back segregation a Democrat policy is ludicrous.

"Lanny Davis was defending him on H&C a little while ago.:-)"
The RAT memo last night must have been
"Billdo: Get Your Licks In Now, We're Shutting Down This Act For A Later Time" and "ALL OTHER RAT SHILLS: RETREAT, RETREAT...WE'VE GONE TOOOOO FAR....RETREAT!"

"Lott is representative of the Republican Party in the minds of liberals"
IMHO, they are expecting him to go and will remember that he's gone...and the GOP and conservatives did what was right!

All due respect but I simply responded to his initial posts....slowly he grew frustrated because he was obviously off point. I didnt kill anything. I was accused of calling every Lott defender a racist.
Nobody else stepped up in rebuke of HNH so by default I had to respond.
Sorry though. :o)

Yeah, it's been one of those nights! LOL!!
To: Sawool
The problem is: Lott is representative of the Republican Party in the minds of liberals. With blacks in tow, they will continue to play the race card even if Lott is on longer Majority Leader. If they can't point the finger at Lott, Nichols will do, so will Selby or McConnell, or..... It won't matter who is in the position, southern Senators are ripe for the accusation Nope sorry I must disagree. Maybe the next person who is Senate Majority leader within the next few days will have a couple billion more brain cells and less ego than Lott.
Once Lott is gone, no more story. Time to move on and give the new Senate Majority Leader a chance.

I guess that's why credits transfer better from North to South, than South to North. The schools were better.
