Horsepucky. Do you believe everything Mickey Kaus tells you? Blumenthal did not generate interest in the story all by himself. Even before Kaus (one of Blumenthal's email recipients) got his message from Blumenthal, several bloggers were already writing about it.
Kaus is stirring the pot, that's all. The story had legs from the beginning, emanating from several sources, because it satisfies the various agendas of Lott's numerous detractors.
No matter what the motivation for the story, Lott's handling of it has only made things worse, to the point today where today he promised to grow gov't bigger just to save his own worthless skin.
Lott has got to go.
