Well, there is not a higher incident of gay pedophilia among priests than there is among other males in groups that have frequent close contact with boys (ministers in non-catholic churches, therapists, doctors, teachers, daycare workers, coaches, cops, and scoutmasters).

I am more upset by clergy sex abuse than abuse by the others.

I am also more upset by the episcopal failure to deal with the problem.

BUT - the same sex abuse and covering up has occured in all these groups (ministers in non-catholic churches, therapists, doctors, teachers, daycare workers, coaches, cops, and scoutmasters) and themedia is not really all that concerned about it.

As a Catholic I can hold my own clerics up to a higher standard without bashing traditional orthodox theology.

Non-catholics and those (some of them Catholics) who really do not know or understand the Church structure and theology and doctrines (beyond a superficial level) just like to look in and scream in a rage.
