'Tempted' by SqueezeA perfectly crafted pop tune. Every turn in the melody is a surprise, and a hook.

My list, top 5 in no order: Led Zeppelin "Rock & Roll" The Who "Don't Get Fooled Again" Nirvana "Smells Like Teen Spirit" AC/DC "You Shook Me All Night Long" The Ramones "I Wanna Be Sedated" Who are all those groups?
How about Inna-Gadda-Da-Vida?? :>)

"God Only Knows" by The Beach Boys.
Yes.
Yes, but you would have to put that whole album on here. Simply brilliant. That's one of those songs that makes you stop whatever you're doing and just listen.

As far as I'm concerned, the single greatest short work of music (technically not a song, but other cited works range even farther afield) is Bach's "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring."

Who are all those groups? THOSE WERE ALL GREAT GROUPS. I miss Nirvana. If you want to really get to know the Ramones, see ROCK AND ROLL HIGH SCHOOL on video or DVD. Fun movie and you get to see them perform a lot of their music. Just a fun romp. WHOLE LOTTA LOVE by Led Zepplin, but you must be STONED to listen to them!!!!!
How about Inna-Gadda-Da-Vida?? :>)

Thanks for clearing that up!
My friend gave me a copy of a third-hand homemade compilation CD last week, with that song and a bunch of songs by Hank 1,2, and 3.
He told me that it was Hank3 !
I looked around the internet and apparently you're right. There is tons of confusion about that song, and it is The Gourds. (It didn't sound anything like Phish!)
Anyway, thanks for the correction. I would have spent weeks trying to find the Hank3 CD with that on it.
That song absolutely kicks ass!
If you're into great odd covers, check out the Dropkick Murphys version of Amazing Grace. It starts off with a traditional bagpipe solo of the song, then goes into a crazy Irish/punk frenzy, with the bagpipe wailing off into places you never knew a bagpipe could go. Just a tip!
