Maybe you should up your price.Risky proposition, given it may prompt the Fed, fearing inflation, to hike interest rates ;^)

Trent Lott said he is NOT going to resign his Majority leader position. He said it loud and clear. What part of they can't un-elect him unles he resigns don't people understand?
Did you know the Republican Senate rules only will allow a re-vote if there is a unanimous consent to vote again. Lott would have to agree to permit a new election to lose his job. Lott said last night there is no chance he will do that.
The election for Majority leader was held 3 weeks ago.. Lott won. There will be no new election. Lott ran. Lott won the election. It is over!!

Thank you, CT; we can always count on you to set the record straight.
I've been saying much the same thing ; however, those here, so blinded by emotion, refuse to see facts ... even when they are irrifutable. Oh well, maybe they'll finally wake up ... some day.

The meeting on January 6th. Is only for the purpose of talking about what Lott is going to do as Majority leader. Any 5 senators can call a meeting. But that is all it is is a meeting. Lott presides, by the way.
There can be no new vote unless Lott would agree to a new vote. They would have to change the rules and that can only be done my unanimous consent. Lott has to agree to change the rules to allow a new vote. Since lott is Majority leader he has to call the meeting and must preside or he must appoint the person to preside.
I just found out everyone in the media has known this for the last 10 days. They are just having fun. I talked to Steve at CBS he told me the Senate rules say Lott has to resign to lose his job.

CT I am afraid he will have no choice. He is already under threat of censure and he has no support from any quarter that counts. The GOP has wounded him and the next step is the democrats coup de gra. You and few others have fought the good fight but I fear it is over. FR can now go back to pretending to fight liberal government. We sure as hell cannot handle real victory.

Lott's ticket is punched, only he doesn't believe it yet. The RATS and Lott are trying to hang onto him, but Lott will get a deal much better than being ML from those working behind the scenes...and the vacuous one will take it.

Thank you, CT; YOU are a gentleman and a scholar. I am a huge admirer of your posts.
May your kind increase and rapidly.
To: Common Tator
Thank you so much. I really appreciate your kind words.
To: Common Tator
You're exactly right, amigo. Excellent point.

Common Tator is, IMHO, the most seasoned observer around here.

You're delusional.

He just might dig his heels in. The majority of GOP Senators hate Nickles. Nickles is now on the radar screen as being as bad / worse than Lott. After these last 10 days, the GOP doesn't want to relive this all, through Nickles.
Who else is angling for the job of SML ? Santorum ? And he has the backing of how many ?
FR will never " get back " to being as it was. Too many new wounds have been inflicted by this internecine ( internicine ? ) warfare.

So, all of the media is sitting on this scoop, "for fun?"
