Gates of the Mountains

Ten miles north of Helena lies an impressive canyon. Where the cliffs rise from the Missouri River perpendicularly to the height of 1200 feet.

This month's PopularMechanics had a feature story recreating the Lewis & Clark expedition in celebration of its 200th anniversary, using modern gear this time. This is part of the route and I find it to be spectacularly awe-inspiring.
