The commandment is to honor your Mother and Father... and all those before them - in thought and deed. We become the giver of the gift that is passed down. Thanks for that... :-)

I had the best luck in searching for Galveston gifs and truly enjoyed searching and fell in love with Galveston...Never knew much about it till reading your vignette...(What can I say, I am the product of the Public School System, lol)....Thank you for enlightening me...

"Bout time you brought Shaggy around in her holiday finery...lol...Louie knows how to get his gals out, doesn't he?

"Louie knows how to get his gals out, doesn't he? "
All he has to do is say he's being neglected and hasn't had a hug for an hour or so.

One of the few regrets in my life is that I never knew my maternal grandmother. She died two years before I was born.
I live with my mother, who has Alzheimer's, now and I feel like I know both grandparents. She talks to them all day and half the night. I know she had a happy childhood if she enjoyed it as much the first time as she is the second time around. She laughs and talks to Momma, Daddy, and her dead brother. They have the best time. I enjoy it myself. It gets really funny sometimes.
The sad part of Christmas is that she has no clue that it's Christmas and she always so enjoyed the cooking and "busy" of Christmas.

Hi Molly, you both did a beautiful job :)

I do remember those old pumps used in the country, (North, South, wherever) to get water. Whenever we visited Grandma, my brothers and I would fight over whose turn it was to pump. Not to get out of pumping, but because we all wanted to pump. Mine had a well with a bucket on a rope.
There is nothing quite so good as water drawn from a well. The secret word is drawn.
Parents were scared to death of "the well." "Don't go near the well!" rang out at least every 15 minutes when the kids were playing outside.

Careful, Amy, don't let Louie near that cat. He'll electrocute it!

Thanks, Amy!!~
Daisy -Those are great pics....I love them all. Thanks!!
Now it's time to say goodnight, and thanks for a wonderful day!

Remind me to tell you about the time our bus broke down in the middle of the Wyoming desert and we spent the night where the old Overland Trail crossed the desert. I love Wyoming. Of all the places in the U.S. it was my favorite. I even loved the whitewater rafting down the Snake River.

You must be very special to care for your Mother so wonderfully, and able to see the humorous aspect of her illness. You have my admiration and thanks for your thoughtfulness. God bless.
