I hope decorum can return here eventually. G-d I hate to say this but there is only one thing to pull us all back together quickly and I'm not about to advocate risking our service folks to wag the dog.

That is not necessary. War will soon be a reality, but not for those reasons. Our leaders may have their faults, but they are like Bubba.

I am much more sanguine about the party coming back together once Lott is quieted down...in fact, I'm such an optimist that I believe the President is coming out looking like a hero...he handled this all beautifully. I also have even sensed a new respect for conservatives coming from some mainstream figures. They know we as a party are going to stand for our principles no matter what.

Lott has apologized to death...and believe it or not, I think the guy on the street is taking it at face value. They will feel his stepping down from the ML spot is enough...and I believe that the new leadership is going to do just fine.
