I have heard Batchelor do two successive interviews
in which the interviewees said diametrically opposite things
and in each case
Batchelor reacted as if he agreed.
Batchelor does not grovel.
He is a novelist
and simply allows people to say what they want to say
while
inwardly
he takes notes
and allows the listeners to do the same.
When Alexander occasionally takes issue with the guests
Batchelor quietly puts him down.
Most people probably do not care for this style
but I have come to appreciate it
even when they interview people I detest.
Lots of far fetched speculation

I love it
but facts as well
