I have no doubts that God can do virgin births, resurrections, animals speaking, etc. I just don't think He did.

I understand that you believe God CAN/Could have.
Perhaps that's a bit like one of my stuck points at present. I have no doubt God CAN/COULD DO A LOT OF THINGS in my areas of need/angst, growing edge. Does He want to is my stuck point. I can say yes, in my head. It's slowly sinking down to my heart.
I'm working to better "take each thought captive" and conform it to The Word of God vs the 'tangible' 'reality.' It is helping. Not as good at it as I want to be. But mostly, God is having to do another work in my heart; in rewirinig my emotions etc. He's the surgeon. I'm not. THANKFULLY. But I have to ask Him and do what I can to cooperate.
It's not really sufficient from God's perspective to know HE CAN DO a LOT of things. Satan knows that. Satan believes the Bible far better than most Christians--and knows it better.
We are called to agree with God AND CHOOSE HIS WAYS AND MAKE DAILY CHOICES IN LIVING AS THOUGH WE MEANT IT. . . . walk our talk.
A bit like the old tight rope walker at Niagra Falls. He walks back and forth pushing a wheel barrow full of say bricks. Then he asks a bystander if the bystander believes he could do it with a person instead of bricks. The bystand agrees readily. Then the rope walker says, OK, get in.

The sort of believe that correctly ascribes to God capacity to be God but then robs Him and your relationship with Him of whatever else would implement such a more robust relationship--doesn't seem at all cricket, kosher, reasonable, fair--to you or to God.
It feels kind of like . . . OK Daddy Gates, I believe you CAN give me $10 billion. But I don't believe you really want to and if you do, I don't want to receive it.
What a wasted potential.

I have no doubts that God can do virgin births, resurrections, animals speaking, etc. I just don't think He did. More people in the world are Christians than those who belong to any other religion. Billions of people in the world are trying to emulate Christ. If God could do a virgin birth and a resurrection to help accomplish that great end, why wouldn't He?
