The term "world" itself is too broad, or too narrow, or whatever.
It seems to too many people to mean this planet, a ball of rock in space. A globe is a picture of this EARTH, but not of our "world," right? If "world" can mean just one planet, this one, then that word does not properly translate "cosmos."
If it means as in "my world, and welcome to it"-- everything in our consciousness, our UNIVERSE, our KEN, then maybe cosmos could be translated 'world', but why bother?
Nearly every time it appears in NT, it is translating the Hebrew "olam" and its derivatives, which clearly imply other things in space, "olam" can even be a specific NON-earthly planet at times...
and normally refers to the infinite expanse of the eternal universe...
I'm sorry I was hasty in my post because you know something? I don't know what the cosmos is. I did a quick check of the the word "cosmos" and posted it. Not a thorough study by any means and I apologize for it.
As far as ET's goes I think it is a foolish question because the Scriptures do not say therefore we do not know. Oh sure some mental tickling on the subject is ok but I'm not going to spend a lot of mind time on it.
Are you familiar with Hebrew? Because if you are I would like for you to consider something in Gen 1 that the modern versions may have all wrong according to the Hebrew. Either way I apologize again for my arrogance.
