No text yet, just a radio report at the end of Rush's show.
Must be worried about the Russert report this morning that he is 'Far' from the 26 votes needed for a Senate Caucus victory.

Nor can Lott defenders like myself bail him out if he won't properly defend himself. Last nite's performance was sickening. 'bout put me on the fence with this debacle.
Frist is OK...better than Lott even before this but he's no rainmaker. Actually, I don't think we have one. Take the war from our respected President and he'd be having a harder go at it too.
Whoever can fix this either thru firming the ranks or properly replacing Lott needs to act and act fast and juduciously. Who's gonna step up? Rove?...lol

Good. Now that we are on record being tougher on our idiots, again, than the RATS are on theirs (please censure Lott, not removal from ML!), it's time to rip the Communist Black Caucus a new hole and move forward with fair legislation for all, including blacks, whites and greens, including educational choice, no more affirmative action - which is reverse discrimination by any other name, etc.
To: Guillermo
Lott fighting to keep the SML spot is selfish and stupid. I hate him. I despise him too. I always knew he was an ineffective Leader, but thought he was a decent man. He is not.
He is a disloyal worm, who would rather bring down his party then take responsibility for his own actions. In addition, he has directly threatened the President of the United States.
He is morally corrupt. I wish Barbour was already Governor, I wish Lott would simply leave the Senate, but we need the vote. Vomit.
To: wardaddy
Rove and Frist have done a good job so far. Far better than Lott, IMO.
I want RESULTS. I will not tolerate idiots and fools in positions that serve as spokesmen for the party. Particularly when their idiocy hurts efforts by the party to broaden its base. Lott's stupidity did that, and I'm being pretty charitable to the man. Because the pattern's enough to tar him pretty bad, IMO.

"Sen. Stevens of Alaska told him to hang in there, and Lott said he would do just that."
Two words: secret ballot.
To: mewzilla
"All I can say is that I wish the gentleman on BET had asked Lott one more question last night: Have you ever submitted to blackmail?"
That's what Sean should have asked him.

BTTT and Merry Christmas!

Conservatives are going to get screwed anyway so why not turn tail rather than stand tall. Quite a prescription! Stand tall? I've wanted Lott gone for years. If this is what it takes, so be it. The Dems would have us keep a leader who's always been ineffective - and will be even MORE ineffective going forward.
Let's rid ourselves of this bum, install a conservative as majority leader, and try to spin the race issue in our favor.

Howlin, do you have Racicot's e-mail address
Go to www.rnc.org you can send it there. I just e-mailed Mark with the message "Get rid of Lott or don't ask me for another cent".

It couldn't have happened without a willing press. THey've been lockstep with the DNC on this matter. And it is indeed astounding that the DNC has been able to paint us all with such a broad brush for years, and have it stick
-----
The fact that most DUmmies on their boards continue to paint the press as right-wing whores in the face of this blatant hypocrisy is amazing.
Lott ahould not only be made to step down, but once this is done, the Republican party should challenge the Dems to do the same thing to their supposed 'conscience of the Senate' Sen Byrd (D-KKK, WV). Watch the excuses fly.
The fact that Je$$e is now backing off *does* speak volumes. The Dems want Lott right where he is.

I just called the white house, the RNC, and Jeb Bush's office and told them that egomaniac Lott is prepared to destroy the entire republican party.
To: wardaddy
"Ape....Nickles has been Lott's main challenger for years ...and you know that."
And I'd like him and would like to see him go for it, but I just don't think he believes he has the votes.

My e-mail to Racicot (I also attached my editorial which I won't bother to repeat here):
As a staunch Republican, it pains me that Trent Lott's comments have painted the entire party with the broad and ugly brush of racism. Regardless of the issues pertaining to media and DNC hypocrisy surrounding this issue, I feel it is imperative that we refuse to permit Trent Lott to resume the position of Majority Leader. The GOP should not wait until January 6th to take up this matter, but rather should conference call immediately and at least issue a press statement.
Should the GOP decide that Trent Lott is fit to hold the position of Majority Leader, I will be forced to reconsider future donations to the party. This has been a painful decision for me to make. I had originally defended Trent Lott to the extent the reaction to his comments is so very hypocritical. See below for a copy of my letter to the editor, published in the Washington Times on Saturday, December 14th. I mention this letter because, although I would like the Party of Lincoln to stand taller and not stoop to the standards of the DNC, I would also like to see the party defend it's record with a more forceful voice.

Nickles may well have done what he did Sunday because he was put up to it by Rove. I suspected that anyway, but I heard a reporter on WMAL say as much yesterday.
To: hchutch
Lott's more of a palm greaser than a spokesman.
In any event....I'm not happy about any of it from Lott(never liked him) to his detractors....it's all FUBAR and has been mishandled by everyone who's touched it from the getgo.
Lott's sucking up makes me more inclined to see him step down....yes, even if it scores a victory for the PC mob but he should be paid off to keep his seat if need be. We don't need to let the baby get thrown out with the bath water.
Keeping the Senate is more important than any one person's ambitions. And don't bring up principles please. This is politics and drowning on principles while your enemies have none is Quioxtic.
Sancho!!....fetch my sword!

Bill Clinton Inc.

He just said that Lott can be turned That means only one thing. Lott is their puppet. They control him now. I cannot believe that the Repubs in the Senate will leave him in. If they do that is the end of our control. Lott can now be minipulated by the Dems. SOMEBODY CHECK THE BACK OF LOTT'S NECK AND LOOK FOR IMPLANTS!

Could not have said it better!

"Nickles may well have done what he did Sunday because he was put up to it by Rove. I suspected that anyway, but I heard a reporter on WMAL say as much yesterday."
That was my hunch and I'm convinced this is all being orchestrated very cleverly by the Top of our party.
To: streetsmart
Thanks, streetsmart. I just e-mailed too.
