No text yet, just a radio report at the end of Rush's show.
Must be worried about the Russert report this morning that he is 'Far' from the 26 votes needed for a Senate Caucus victory.

Absolutely! Maybe we should just call him Luke Lott. "I got my mind right now, boss. Please...jus' don't hit me no mo'!"
To: texasbluebell
I heard that too. Think Hastert may have had some things to tell the president?

"
I really do agree with you that the concept of Republicans eating their own is despicable. And as proof of that, I would like to remind you that this is the exact reason why we despise Trent Lott in the first place! It's not "sanctimonious" to see someone for what he really is -- a useless piece of flesh-eating bacteria who will eat his own for the right price"Other than a vicious personal attack you have not alluded to one fact.

My wife called and told me Shep was all over the hustler....not literally that is..lol
To: edsheppa
We had a chance to take the race huslters head on but everybody took Bill Kristols side and forced Lott to give in. I say the party deserves whatever it gets. At least we gave Jesse Jackson a new life. This was bungled by conservatives from the get go.

We have entered an alternate universe.
I didn't leave the universe, it left me.
To: shrinkermd
A lot of the people on this board suffer from an irrational hostility towards Lott.
To: Dog
They'll save him alright to toss around come next election.

"This is like the Dems demanding that Bob Livingston resign ... and then begging him to reconsider when he did. This should convince all the folks whining about liberal PC attacks on Lott what is really going on here - the Dems want Lott weakened, in place for the next two years as a poster boy for their slime campaigns. The last thing they want is for Lott to actually step down as ML..."
Lott absolutely has to step aside. He played right into their hands. The Communist Black Caucus and Co. on the left thought they'd get traction on their own, but, thankfully, the right side of the aisle wouldn't let Trent slide for his stupidity, so this thing drove right up his back end. Now, Lott has revealed himself even more and the other side is liky 'whoa, Trent, enough bending over...you keep doing this you'll have to leave as ML and our best friend in leadership on the right is gone'. He's toast or the GOP is toast. Take your pick.

re. your Katie O'Bierne post:
She said the conservatives are split over Lott. I believe they (we) are too, but, however this turns out, the issue will settle down.
My vote is for Lott to go, for almost all the reasons cited on this thread :>)
To: Howlin
You're living up to your moniker....I can almost hear you over here. You're howling.

After Sheps remarks today, maybe Jesse will never appear on Fox again, if we are lucky. I've got to hand it to Shep. He's got some moxie. Wish I hadn't missed that interview! How I would have loved seeing JJ's foolish face during that! I wish he would go on O'Reilly though, but that will never happen now. Jesse's a coward.
To: NittanyLion
Conservatives are going to get screwed anyway so why not turn tail rather than stand tall. Quite a prescription!
To: mewzilla
"Well, let's put it this way...If there's a tinfoil hat aspect to this mess, I could see ol' Trent being persuaded to quit since the Dems efforts at weaking him, with Lott's own able assistance, have clearly gone too far. The only way the Dems can now make hay is to try to force him out completely and get another Senate seat under their control. If that happens, I could see at least one Dem Senator who's had a bellyful changing his party affiliation"
If Lott could suck it up enough to go on BET last night and stink it up, he can suck it up and remain in the Senate when he's not ML anymore.
To: ewing
ABC reporter in Mississippi repeats the report, saying Lott told him, "I don't want to be presumptuous, but I think I have the votes to win." He has spoken to almost all the Republican senators in the past couple of days. Sen. Stevens of Alaska told him to hang in there, and Lott said he would do just that.
To: aristeides
Think Hastert may have had some things to tell the president? No doubt, but it was possibly more symbolic, I'm thinking.
To: OldFriend
Standing Tall is great, but such a strategy is impossible with Lott as ML. He couldn't "stand tall" if his life depended on it, or so the BET interview indicates.
To: deport
Where did you get those numbers?
To: ApesForEvolution
All I can say is that I wish the gentleman on BET had asked Lott one more question last night: Have you ever submitted to blackmail?
To: Nita Nuprez
BTTT and Merry Christmas!
