No because, as illustrated by MILLIONS of users, alcohol can be enjoyed responsibly.

When is the last time you had a little crack with your meal?

Is making the argument in terms of the extremes on either end really rational? When was the last time you enjoyed a little Everclear with your dinner? Do people ever responsibly use codeine, even if it isn't prescribed to them?

So can cocaine, as illustrated by the ~80% of users who are not addicted:

When is the last time you had a little crack with your meal?

Crack is a creation of the War On Some Drugs; if cocaine were legal, crack would be about as popular as Everclear.

Good point, but millions "toke up at lunchtime" if that's the right expression. Just a thought, not having a solution myself. I've never had any addictions, but that's 'cuz of the mercy of Jesus Christ, not my efforts alone. Regards, Avery

Crack is a byproduct of the drug war.

Because of the harsh penalties for large weights of drugs, and the profit margins involved, it makes economic sense for dealers to offer a highly concentrated, highly compact product at a low unit cost with an extremely high profit margin.

If the penalty was the same for possessing a bottle of wine vs. a bottle of white lightning, which would you sell, bottles of wine or sips of white lightning?

Coca Cola used to have a small quantity of cocaine in every bottle, back when it was "the pause that refreshes."
