First of all Lott should not quit. He should only step down from being Majority Leader.

If he does quit then the dems are another step closer to taken back congress which is what all of this is about in the first place.

That's what I think too. Resigning from the Senate is over-reacting. Resigning as Majority Leader is the right thing to do as he is now a polarizing figure (same as Hillary, IMO) Also, I'm beginning to think he's not too bright.
