"I've been wanting Lott out for years, but certainly not under these circumstances."
Same here. I wanted Lott to be voted out of the leadership long ago. Especially after the impeachment fiasco, I thought he should have been voted out in 2001, but he got voted in again and then made that riduculous power sharing agreement with Dasshole. Then woke up one day scratching his head and wondering how he suddenly went from being majority leader to minority leader. It is because he is no leader. That is why I want him out of power and that is the only reason I want him out. He should not resign, nor be taken out over this.

Smoochies.

He threatens the all holy policy of The Bush and we can't get in the way of that now can we? To do that is tantamount to sacrilege. It's just like beating the baby Jesus. There is no difference in Gawd's eyes, dontchaknow?

Lott is the biggest gutless wonder on the block. True, and the RINO's elected him as their leader. When you consider they know him a LOT better than any of US know him, what does that say about them? Remember, these are the same people that coronated Giddy Dolt.

Help my memory, this is the Mike Espy who was involved, but 'cleared,' in the Tyson bribery thing? Yes, I believe you are correct. Lots of gifts to and from Don Tyson.

I would love to see the Republicans replace Lott with JC Watts. That would be kind of hard to do,since JC is a Congressman, not a Senator. Allthough I will grant you the Dims could probably get away with something like that.

but there is a lot of inside baseball going on here that needs to be sorted out. It's already been sorted out. Lott will step down late Friday afternoon.. The announcement will come after 5PM.

All Lott's brown-nosing to the racial demagogues is going to get him is ousted, and after Chafee's inevitable desertion, the GOP will again be the Senate minority. It's a win-win-win situation for the Dems: I'ts also a win-win situation for the alleged Republicans in the RNC and the White House. This gives them the excuse they need for not advancing a conservative agenda (something which Bubba-2 has no intention of doing),and allows they to keep their brain-dead sheeple fired up for the next election cycle.
To: Howlin
Show me where George W. Bush has EVER said he supports AFFIRMATIVE ACTION. If he does, will you continue to support Bubba-2?
A simple yes or no will do.
To: Highest Authority
I can't believe how weak the Republican Party has become! First they win both Houses, then they let the left wing set the agenda and tell them who can keep their office and who must resign! That's because they are a fully-owned subsidiary of the Dim Party. A mere branch office that is a neccessary pretense to keep the sheeple sleeping. We are a one-party state, and the Dim branch is the senior branch of the "one, true Party".
To: Illbay
By "long history of spineless leadership" what you REALLY mean is "he didn't get Clinton when the was there for the getting." He swore a oath, and he had a moral obligation. He failed to meet his obligation and live up to his oath, all in the name of putting party ahead of country.
Of course, that rather ignores the political realities of the time, but we're good at that around here.
Weasel words used by the spineless one and his supporters back then to excuse their lack of courage. They put politics ahead of country, and deserve nothing but contempt for doing so.

What's going to happen if the Democrats hold GWB to the fire every time he misspeaks? The same thing that has been happening all along,Bubba-2 will cave and do what the Dims want him to do. He makes even Lott look like a man of principle."Ah'm a uniter, not a fighter."
To: WFTR
Ask yourself this question: "If I were a Democrat, would I want the Republicans to lose Lott?" (Yes, I'm borrowing from that old WKRP episode.) Having Lott in the top leadership position for the Republicans is the best thing that could happen to the Democrats. They don't need him anymore. They have Bush.
To: KQQL
I don't care what Trent Lott said or who's feelings got hurt. The most important thing is what's best for this country. Are you ready to lose a great chance to ram our agenda through and take back this country just because some damn feelings got hurt?
To: E. Pluribus Unum
Excuse me. We didn't make those idiotic comments. Lott did.
To: kinghorse
With the cowardice being shown by so many GOP leaders, I would think any MS Democrat would win any special election to fill out Lott's tenure. When the GOP acts cowardly, the troops simply won't follow the leaders to the ballot boxes. What are the prospects of Governor Musgrove in 2003? Any MS voters care to reply?
To: kinghorse
Excuse me. We didn't make those idiotic comments. Lott did. I have no idea what you are talking about. If you pasted in the quote you are responding to, I could respond as well.

Please note you have a section called "My Posts" (see upper right hand corner of screen) which will show these things. Also it should have referenced the post # I was replying to. No need to fill up pages with pasted quotes.

Please note you have a section called "My Posts" (see upper right hand corner of screen) which will show these things. Also it should have referenced the post # I was replying to. No need to fill up pages with pasted quotes.Correction: Thanks to all the useful "conservative" idiots who picked up Jesse Jackson's "Lott is a Segregationist" smear campaign for the political expediency of replacing him with somebody they like better as speaker.
Excuse me. We didn't make those idiotic comments. Lott did.
I know this is going to be hard for you to believe, but you are not the center of the universe and I don't feel like clicking three links to figure out what the hell you are talking about. If it's important enough to flap your gums over, it ought to be important enough to quote, otherwise don't waste my time.
And as far as Lott's idiotic comments, you carried the Leftists water for them by chiming in on the smear campaign. People say stupid things every day. Every single conservative politicion is now a prospective target of this tactic, thanks to morons like you.
