I would like to see Sean Hannity or someone else at Fox News do a side by side of Senator Byrd's "white n*****" interview with Trent Lott's statement at Strom's birthday party. I think it would make a powerful point.

Excellent suggestion.

Eventually Republicans are going to have to deal with these incessant, outrageous allegations that they are racists. And getting rid of Lott isn't dealing with them. Agreed, but the first to throw the word RACIST usually wins.
I dont understand it, but its true.
If I type the word nigger, do I get banned?
The PC police are out in Force and it saddens me.

I'm very impressed with your article. Thank you for writing it. I appreciate the tone with which you treat the subject, as well as your treatment of the subject itself.
To: JohnHuang2
h) some of the above and he's too stupid to understand what he said, couldn't defend it's ambiguousness and then went off the deepest end. He needs to not be Leader. Censure and he stays...and alot of us will go. Regardless, the future with Lott as Leader, for myriad of reasons, is horrible for the GOP and good faith legislation.
To: ApesForEvolution
Its over apes and lott will be staying did you read the 2 stories?

BLT, Yes, Lott will be staying in the Senate but not as Leader..and...Yes, it's over...and Yes, I read both stories...

LOOK AT YOU PAINTED AS A RACIST
All you have to do is read the liberal editorials or listen to the words of the spokesmen for the Black Congressional Caucus and the National Organization for Women. They are convicting Lott not for his words, but for his political affiliation and his domicile. They cite the Republicans' "southern strategy" of using "code words" appealing to racism to win southern votes.
The New York Times' Bob Herbert wrote, "But Mr. Lott is not the only culprit here. The Republican Party has become a haven for white racist attitudes and anti-black policies. The party of Lincoln is now a safe house for bigotry." There are many other editorials in the same vein.

I've been called worse, BLT. And, by you actually. Lott is toast and we're *ALL* (conservatives with a brain and a heart for all Americans, born and unborn) going to be better off for it.

I would like to see Sean Hannity or someone else at Fox News do a side by side of Senator Byrd's "white n*****" interview with Trent Lott's statement at Strom's birthday party. I think it would make a powerful point. I'd like to see that, too! I'd also like to see Condi and Colin, two great Americans placed in positions of prominence by our Republican President, take to the airwaves with testimonies of their experience in the Bush White House versus their experience in being shunned - nay, blasted! - by Democrats and Liberals.
J.C. Watts has spoken out about the double standard, and I praise him for it.
The Rev. Peterson has been wonderful as well.
Paging Dr. Walter Williams!

I'm all for dumping Lott if he meant his remarks as racist. I'm even for replacing him at some point because he's not conservative enough. But let's not confuse the two.
Those conservatives who think Republicans are going to end this by making Lott a sacrificial lamb have another think coming. Praise God for the Limbaughs.
To: JohnHuang2
Thank goodness there are folks out there seeing this for what it really is... political barnstorming in the bait and hook fashion. Excellent articles... both. BTW, I would like to mention two more little Louisiana tidbits: Mary's preaching campaign from those Louisiana pulpits makes you wanna sit up and say, hmmmmmmmm. AND... about that Nationalized election message she claims was sent to the President: she forgot to mention that she called out that Black Cacaus to go out in force for her all over Louisiana. Hypocritical power-mongers are on a mission.

Those conservatives who think Republicans are going to end this by making Lott a sacrificial lamb have another think coming.David is using the same analogy I have been posting.
There seem to be a lot of FReepers ready to crawl on their knees to JE$$E JACK$ON and offer Lott as their sacrifice for absolution of their skin color.
