Well I believe Lott is going, but he seems hellbent on taking the entire GOP agenda down with him in searing flames.
This is unbelievable - who would have thunk one month after a great electoral victory a giant hand grenade has went off in our faces and threatens to f*** it all up.

"Major Owens...Is this the guy who claimed that sharks still circle the former trade route of slave ships?" Yeah, that's the guy!
Major Owens once said (on the House floor), that slave ships tossed over 200 million overboard during their Atlantic crossings.
The wacky Owens claims that it altered the ecology of the ocean, and sharks today still swim the slave ship routes looking for a meal. And this is who Lott is trying to work with to resurrect himself.
Limbaugh has suggested that Lott take a cruise with Owens to tour the slave ship routes. I think Lott at this point would consider it, and personally, I wish he would...

...but after the AA flip-flop and the smarmy bribe offer to black Americans in general...the party is probably better off without him as majority leader. Yes. It's beginning to look to me like the old expression "you made your bed so now you're going to have to sleep in it" will apply. I won't be surprised to see a new SML too.....

Lott, the poor, stupid bastard, was screwed, blued and tattoed as soon as he started apologizing. He said nothing at that event that they could hang him with; he erred when he gave credence to the inferences that other people drew from his comments. Clinton, the erstwhile pro, would have been a good model for Lott by his policy of deny, deny, DENY! Once Lott allowed his questioners the first question he was cooked.
