Platform of the Republican Party

http://www.rnc.org/GOPInfo/Platform/2000platform4.htm

It is indeed pro life, whether republicans (Bush, Ridge, Whitman, Kennedy, Daschle, etc.) follow it or not is a different story.

The Supreme Court’s recent decision, prohibiting states from banning partial-birth abortions — a procedure denounced by a committee of the American Medical Association and rightly branded as four-fifths infanticide —shocks the conscience of the nation. As a country, we must keep our pledge to the first guarantee of the Declaration of Independence.

That is why we say the unborn child has a fundamental individual right to life which cannot be infringed.

We support a human life amendment to the Constitution and we endorse legislation to make clear that the Fourteenth Amendment’s protections apply to unborn children.

Our purpose is to have legislative and judicial protection of that right against those who perform abortions. We oppose using public revenues for abortion and will not fund organizations which advocate it.

We support the appointment of judges who respect traditional family values and the sanctity of innocent human life.

Bush Violated the last paragraph by appointing 5 PRO-ABORTION Judges in NJ.

Truly a sick and inhumane evil process. May God have mercy on us.

I guarantee you the Republican party will strip the pro-life plank from the Republican party platform by 2008. 13 posted on 12/17/2002 0:04 AM EST by Polycarp Uh, that's a bit over the top, don'tcha know. It is our job to educate our fellow Americans so that even the democrat party will have to put some form of a pro-life plank in theirs, in order to get the minimal votes. I expect that by 2008, my efforts and those of like minded pro-lifers will have transformed this nation. If we don't succeed, this nation will not long endure!

The bill would outlaw human cloning for purposes of reproduction. This is the typical double speak where the individual human life they create will not be allowed to develop through a natural life cycle to birth, so they claim this exploitation of individual human life isn't objectionable! What this stealth exploitation does is bring an individual human life into existence, hold it in suspension, then harvest body parts from it when the tissues differentiate to the point they seek for exploitation. They use the stealth term 'therapeutic cloning' to hide their evil intentions. It's still cannibalism.

If we don't succeed, this nation will not long endure!

This "nation" has already ceased to endure.

Like an old building set for implosion, all the major supports have already been cut, and all that remains is the empty shell and an edifice that still by outward appearance looks like "America."

The speed of the collpase is going to be breathtaking to all who never knew the internal supports were already gone.

Maybe we will be able to rebuild something resembling "America" when the smoke and dust settles.

Maybe.

Apalling. But this the the State that failed to elect Schundler and that elevated a has-been over a good candidate. Pray for them.

I will not respond to any more of your post until you have answered some of the questions that I and others have asked of you. You have set yourself up as judge and jury and will distort, evade and malign anyone who does not march precisely as you have determined they should. Frankly, you might find it helpful to join a Kinder Care Sunday School class for a few months and refresh your memory of the basics as Jesus taught them. Since you have demonstrated you have no conscience about making unfounded assertions I will say for the record, I am a pro-life, cradle-born high church Episcopalian. I'm a life-long Republican who happens to support President Bush.

I'd still like to know, for my own edification, what problems you could possibly have with post # 22.

The 5 George W. Bush Judicial apointees are pro abortion and are not pro-life, what else do you want? Just face the facts as I have, I will work from within the party so Bush changes his evil ways and tells the truth the next time he runs. Obviously, he is not as "pro life" as we thought. The Stem cell issue was the first, these 5 pro abortion judicial appointments is strike 2, and I wonder when strike 3 will occur. I am glad to hear that you are pro life it's just too bad that Bush is not.

Sorry, My sincere and deep apologies, Darlin'. You didn't exactly call him a liar, you only implied it:

will distort, evade and malign anyone ...you have no conscience about making unfounded assertions

Now what the heck is wrong with post # 22, "Darlin"?

Thank you. I accept your gracious apology. :)
"Bush Violated the last paragraph by appointing 5 PRO-ABORTION Judges in NJ."

In that post, and in others, coleus has made this same accusation against all 5 of these men. He has yet to back it up with hard facts, he has said we should simply take his word for it and trust that he knows what he is talking about. That is just wrong.

I have tried to explain to Darlin' and others that the article written in the Bergen Record was an article not written about abortion and was written to Highlight Bill Martini, a former congressman in the area, R-8th, 1994-1996. The article went on to list the 4 other judicial appointees.

Martini's pro-abortion record is straight forward as I posted his profile from CNN and the Christian Coalition Score Card where he stated he was pro-choice (abortion) and that he voted to pay for abortions for federal employees overseas and voted for gay rights in the military.

The 4 other candidates were confirmed as abortionists by the NJ Right to Life and the "NJ Pro-Life" Legal Center for the Defense of Life. I think the lawyers for the Legal Center for the Defense of Life know a little bit more about NJ Lawyers than Bush and Darlin'. These lawyers interact with each other daily for years and years and I am sure the Legal Center for the Defense of Life know a bit more as to which lawyers are pro life and which are not.

This link explained the rationale for why pro aborts were picked for NJ.

Sounds quite reasonable to me, and both NJ Right to Life and the "NJ Pro-Life" Legal Center for the Defense of Life are reputable, honest pro-life organizations.

So where's the beef, Darlin'?

Legislation would authorize partial birth abortions up to the day of delivery and establish human embryo and fetal farms in NJ.

Today, 25 NJ Senators shamefully embraced gruesome and destructive research in which human beings will be experimented on for their desired cells and/or organs. In addition to allowing embryonic human beings left over from infertility clinics to be dissected and killed, S1909 allows the artificial manufacture of cloned human beings to be implanted into a uterus at the embryonic stage and harvested for research and killed at any time from the embryonic period through the ninth month of gestation. Commenting on the legislation, Marie Tasy, Director of Public & Legislative Affairs for New Jersey Right to Life, said, “this is truly mad science.”

Disgusting .... if the terrorists get nukes ... I hope they bomb here first.

A presumption has been made that the personal views of all 5 men will cloud their judgement on the cases brought before them. If that proves to be true then they would be unfit to rule on any case, not just abortion.
