lott is making himself like he is the republican party and he is going to take the republican party through DNC sponsored sensitivity training with him. he, as OUR leader, is making us apologize when WE didn't open our big stupid mouths.

This is at best stupid and at worst truly racist. If he believes that if a campaign based –primarily, if not totally – on segregation, should have been triumphant, he IS a racist. If he was saying it to be nice to Strom Thurmond, he is a moron. Either way, he should not be majority leader. Republicans, and conservatives in general, need to realize that the charge of racism, against them tend to be believed.
It is not fair, but it is probably not fair for us to for to call all (or even most) Democrats / Liberals soft on defense.
If he really believes this country would have been better off segregated I would prefer he not be in the Senate (that is up to the people of Mississippi not me). If he just spouted off at the mouth he should not be Majority leader. If he leaves, good riddance to bad…
