Tex! We usually agree on most if not all issues, But IMHO Not only did Lott bring this on himself, but he lumped all of us together with his statements on BET. I'm completely baffled why he would act like he did on BET, Did you watch it?

I am saying this right up front, if Lott resigns or is pushed out over this issue, you could elect the most conservative senator in the senate and he will be so terrified of what happened to Lott he will never challenge a racial program that comes up for a vote. I don't care who you are, in public life there is skeleton in the closet that will be used against you. This is not a good thing that is happening here and within a week of the new majority leader's term FreeRepublic and the conservative press will be calling him/her a sell out. Lott is gone and the only question remains if he will stay in the senate but in the big picture it does not matter. Borking worked again and it will continue to work because we let it. I don't like Lott and it has been agony to defend a principle while the subject is without many principles himself but this is not a victory for us and we have not advanced the ball.
