You might be right in your assessment of Santorum....I think he could do the job effectively, and he's rumored to want it......but the point of my comment was, given the four possible choices...would the GOP avoid picking another southerner.....that's why I think it'll be Santorum..How do you think southerners would react to the fact that the "new" majority leader can not be from the south? Do you think the votes can be made up in Boston with "moderates" who now embrace the GOP?

I'm not sure that any of this is going to change anything. It might have worked if they put Lott in the center of a circle and everyone had a chance to slap him, spit on him, and generally beat him about the head. But to really get even with 'the man'....he would have to offer himself up for a hanging.
