His Affirmative Action remark was my biggest jolt in the interview too, but AA certainly wasn't going to be taken on in this session anyway.
And I thought his remark about practising AA himself left him room to pull a "It depends on what the meaning of Affirmative Action is".
But that was the low point of his performance.
(Hmmm... You and deport both got a worse impression of his performance than I did!)
I don't know if you have seen me posting my support of Trent Lott and that we should not allow the RATS to lead on this issue. I have been defending him since this story broke until tonight. Maybe I will change my mind, I'm open to that. But I expect a Conservative Senator to be able to defend his voting record against Affirmative Action no matter who the audiance is. If he is able to explain why he said what he did tonight on BET I will toss my hat back in his corner because I don't think his comments at Thurmonds B-Day party deserved anything more that an explanation and an apology to those who were offended.
