Having fun? Boy are you off base!! This is one of the most depressing weeks I have had in quite some time. Ask my wife if you don't believe me. Lott has squandered some great opportunities.

I doubt that Lott could have gotten a conviction....nor do I believe that the House Republicans believed that a conviction was likely. They just did what needed to be done.

Having said that, if they were going to impeach Clinton, they shouldn't have fumbled at the trial stage. Here is my question for you? Would Lott have lost anything (other than another month or so) if he had actually tried to make a real trial with witnesses, bringing up the evidence from the House basement, etc.? As it was, his lame attempt to "split the difference" left a bad taste in everyone's mouth and betrayed history.

Depressing week....I hear ya...I've been so upset over this and back an forth with my opinion....all I know is that I am so tired of working for the GOP(getting out the vote, campaigning) to win back the majority of the Senate, only to lose it once and maybe on the verge of losing it again....being done in by our own Repub Senators......sigh!

"if they were going to impeach Clinton"

At least we are getting to the truth now.
