Nonsense. The radical blacks want Lott out of the Senate. Short of that, they'd love for him to remain as majority leader so they can use him as their poster boy for the GOP, though they won't admit to thinking that.

On the other hand, many Freepers want him to remain in the Senate but step down from his majority leadership post.

The radical blacks want the GOP to be in the permanent minority. Us Freepers want to preserve our majority in the short-term (this session) as well as the long-term (2004 elections and beyond). Lott is threatening both our short-term and long-term futures. Hard for us to remain in the majority if we can't get potential voters into our party and contribute money. Think about it.

You know I have been against Trent Lott stepping down as the ML, but after the interview I saw tonight, I am convinced Trent Lott is lacking the fortitude to move our Party forward. What I saw on BET tonight was not what I consider leadership. Leaders are defined during times of struggle and form what I have seen in the past 3 or 4 days out of Trent Lott is not what I would define as leadership
